Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays! We had an amazing first Christmas with Hayden in Spokane, now that he is 7 months old he is sitting up and continuing to get into everything! He wants to crawl, but gets around faster on his back still which is totally hilarious to see. We sat him down early Christmas morning in front of a gift from his auntie Molly and uncle Mike and he could not get enough of the ribbons! With a little help he tore into his very own Jack in the Box! So cute:)

I may have overdown it with a few gifts under the tree for Hayden this year, we didn't realize everyone else would over do it too so as we sat there looking around at everyone's piles his was still overfowing long after we were all done unwrapping our gifts! I need to remember he does not care one bit about the clothes- only the toys get a reaction! He got tons of books and loves his drive toy that he can steer on and honk the horn! One of the greatest gifts for Hayden was a Pooh Bear made especially for him by his Great Gram Nena! I have to thank my wonderful husband for getting me a great new chair I wanted for the new house! We are within 60 days now of completion on our new place.

The rest of our break has been spent getting well. First Hayden was sick and then I came down with it. Otherwise everything has been great, we have been able to spend the break in Spokane with my parents. We have been taking it easy and look forward to ringing in the New Year with the rest of the family when we watch the Zags vs. Oklahoma on New Year's Eve. Go Zags!
We are so very thankful to have such an amazing little boy and his first Christmas has been fantastic! Best Wishes to all our family and friends this holiday season and in the New Year to come!

Solid foods and siding!

Things have been a bit crazy over the last month or so. We went to San Antonio at the end of October with Michael's parents and then I started back to work on November 9th. It has been an adjustment for sure and I miss spending my days with Hayden but he is in a good daycare and my days go by quickly so I can get to him as soon as I am done. He is eating solids now, and loves green beans and carrots so far...but he let us know sweet peas are not his favorite the other night! He is six months old as of yesterday and is still as happy as can be, he is rolling over and loves scooching around on his back and bouncing in his exersaucer! Did I mention the two teeth he has as well, such a big boy!

The house is coming along, it is fun to see the progress made on a daily basis! The roof is now all done and the plumbing and electrical are ready to be inspected. They are almost done with the siding as well and are getting ready to pour the patio next week. We have been able to walk through and imagine how it is going to be as it takes shape and we look forward to the holidays next year when we can start our own traditions in our new house!

build...

We are officially living with the Buschbach's and our new home is under way! Things are moving along and it looks like the framing will begin today or tomorrow. It is so much fun to see the progress on a daily basis. Since we are only a block away we are able to take walks down there each night to see what has been done. We are having fun with Lexie and Steve, we are one big happy family in what we call our "compound." The dogs are loving the fact that they can run around after each other and we swear Hayden's first words might be " NO Stella!" All joking aside, we are so fortunate to have such amazing friends who have given us a place to call home while we are in between our own! More to come...

Pumpkin Patch

Happy Fall! I can't believe how time is flying by... in one more month I will be heading back to work and Hayden will be heading to daycare. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad, but it will be good for the both of us. Our family has lots of big news lately...Michael and I sold our house in record time (1 day) and we have purchased a lot to build a new home on. One that will give Hayden plenty of room to run and play in so we are very excited! We have wonderful friends who have invited us to stay with them during the building process, so next week we will be living with Lexie and Steve:) until our new home is finished. Did I mention we can pretty much watch the progress from their house because our lot is only one block away!

Yesterday Hayden and I went to the pumpkin patch with my friend Kami and her two boys Mason and Carter. We had a great time, Hayden is so good on our little outings! We rode on a trailer out to the pumpkin patch and watched the older boys search for the perfect pumpkin before we headed off to the bouncy houses and carnival rides. I am looking forward to next year when Hayden can run along side them!

Daycare

Hayden went to daycare for the first time today! I am still fortunate enough to have maternity leave until November but we have decided to ease both of us into the whole idea of daycare...I think it is harder on me! Now that he is 3 months old we have a part time spot available at a nice little place not far from our house. Thanks to our friend Crystal for the recommendation, her son Riley goes there as well. I dropped Hayden off this morning for 2 hours while I took some time for myself, I have to admit I was a bit sad leaving him. Everything went well though, Miss Shauna said he was great and that he enjoyed looking around and listening to music. It was really cute to see the other kids say "goodbye baby Hayden" as we left. I can't believe the 3 month mark is already here! He is getting so big!

McCall

We recently spent a much needed break from everything in McCall at the cabin with my parents. Michael and I officially made our first long road trip with Hayden and JD. We survived! The long weekend was great, we relaxed at the cabin, went on walks and bike rides, and visited the sites around town. The boys got two days of golfing in while us girls took Hayden out for some fresh air and to the farmer's market with my aunt Cori. The waterfront area is finally done in town and it looks amazing, we can hardly wait until next year when Hayden can play in the sand and run through the water features. Cori and Mark recently moved back to the states from Singapore so we had fun catching up with them during our trip. A big thank you to Nena and Grandad for the use of the cabin along with the Samson's for having us over for a nice evening as well! Michael and I look forward to our next visit!

Smiles

Hayden and I spent a few days in Spokane recently to celebrate his auntie Jaci's bday. We had a great time. I was able to actually spend some alone time with my sister as well to do some much needed birthday shopping. Hayden is getting so big, he is much more animated and loves to "talk" while kicking around on his blanket. Plus he smiles all the time now and recognizes voices which is fun to see. We have our 2 month check up this week so we'll be able to see how big he is actually getting at this point!

After our trip to Spokane we headed home for Boat Race weekend. Lampson always has events lined up for each day and Michael is always really involved. My mom helped us out so Michael and I could enjoy our first date night at Bill's party that Friday night. It was a little weird being away from the little one just the two of us for a change...I only called home once! Saturday was spent relaxing while Michael was at the Lampson Golf Tournament. Hayden and I joined him for the tournament dinner that evening at the country club and I think Hayden was a big hit, plus he did really well around all the people- including our friend Michele Colter who stole him for awhile to show him off to everyone. The boys enjoyed their first golf function together and I know Michael can hardly wait until Hayden gets some sticks of his own to start playing around with!

Cute pics!

We are approaching the 2 month mark already and Hayden is getting bigger. He is finally getting to wear some of the cute outfits everyone bought him, up until now he has been too small still. But when I say some I guess I mean one or two outfits...still growing into most of them! We were able to enjoy a nice dinner out with my parents at Tagaris recently and he was great! I think he likes being outside. Check out his big boy shoes! We're off to Spokane for my sister's birthday so he is becoming quite the little traveler already.

Caledonian Games

Last weekend we spent some time in Athena, OR with Michael's parents. It was the annual weekend of Caledonian Games. It is a Scottish Festival that is over 100 years old. Hayden got to experience his first parade, featuring lots of bag pipes! There were clans represented from all over and dancing in the park. The high school fields doubled as the headquarters for the games which included sheep hearding, sheath tossing, and the caber toss. It was all very interesting and the town doubles in size for the three days of festivities! When we could stand the heat we were able to do lots of people watching and we cheered our friend Bill on in the sheath toss competition.

6 weeks and counting

Time is already flying by it seems... Hayden is 6 weeks old and other than a little cold this week we have slowly been getting into more of a routine around the house. We have been able to venture out more and more, which has been nice. We have been able to meet some friends and family for dinner occasionally and last week our good friends Kortney and Geneva visited with their little ones from Spokane. We spent the 4th of July in Spokane with family and Hayden took his first ever dip in water! I'm not so sure he was too thrilled since we basically woke him up to do it. He looked pretty darn cute though in his little swim shorts!

Our First Blog

We have decided to start this blog as a way to keep family and friends updated on all our family happenings! As most of you know, Michael and I welcomed our son Hayden into our lives on May 27th. He surprised us just over two weeks early and we could not be more thrilled to be parents! Everything went great at the hospital and we are now taking things one day at a time because Hayden runs the show. I can't believe it has been 1 month already!
